Shortly after being announced as part of the official soundtrack EP for the upcoming Egyptian film EgyBest, Abyusif has returned with a surprise new release, Pegi Goo, just in time for Eid.
Produced by Abyusif himself, Pegi Goo leans into the rapper’s signature rapid-fire wordplay and dense pop culture references, with the title nodding to South Korean DJ and producer Peggy Gou.
Lyrically, Abyusif doubles down on his lone-wolf persona within Egypt’s rap scene, delivering sharp, assured bars while even likening his output to that of prolific film producer Mohamed El Sobky.
True to Abyusif’s style, the track’s production avoids conventional melodic structures, instead building itself around looping, hard-hitting rhythms layered with industrial textures and what appears to be video game-inspired samples.
Beyond this surprise Eid release, Abyusif also appears on the EgyBest soundtrack EP with Shoghle. Led by composer Ehad Abdel Wahed, the four-track project blends shaabi, trap, industrial textures, and electronic production, with additional contributions from MOND, Hady Moamer, and Showkey.
